Matthew Vaclavik (Matt) completed his Master’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Alberta in 2021. Matthew spent time during his degree treating a variety of conditions including cardiovascular, Neurological and musculoskeletal injuries. Matthew truly believes that movement is medicine and his treatment style reflects this. Matthew will employ a tailored exercise program to help you get back to your daily activities and perform them pain-free. He will also utilize manual therapy to help get you feeling better as soon as you come through the door. Since graduation, Matthew has been working with MVA, WCB and private patients to help them return to work/play as soon as possible. He has a particular interest in sports-related injuries such as knee, shoulder and ankle injuries as well as return to sport training and testing. Whether you are someone who wants to perform your day-to-day activities pain-free or someone who is looking to return to sport better and stronger than ever, Matthew has the tools and knowledge to help you achieve your goals.
Matthew is an avid climber, enjoys weightlifting and anything basketball. Matthew has a passion for sports-related injuries since before he became a physical therapist, he was also a patient due to injuries he sustained over his years of sport. If Matthew isn’t at the clinic he can be found at a climbing gym, a basketball court or lifting weights. Matthew also loves dogs and spends a lot of time out for walks with his Corgi Melo.
